Dr. Amy White Hockenbrock was born in the Bay Area. She attended Los Gatos High School and U.C. Berkeley for Undergraduate work. She graduated with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Genetics. She also led the U.C. Berkeley NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer team to multiple playoff births from 1996 through 2000. After college, Dr. Hockenbrock worked on Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus, played semi-professional soccer, worked for a Global Macro Hedge Fund, and eventually went back to research focusing on Tuberculosis. She also was the first in her family to promote soy based products for Kraft Foods on the Bocamobile as a “Boca Buddy”.

Dr. Hockenbrock then received her M.S. in Applied Physiology followed by her M.D. from Rosalind Franklin University and Chicago Medical School respectively. She was brought back to O’Connor Hospital in San Jose for both Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. Her special interests at work include Sports Medicine, Women’s Health, and care for the LGBT community. Dr. Hockenbrock lives in Los Gatos with her husband, three children, two cats and one dog.
